With material prices, employee issues, bad weather, a flat tire or two, we sometimes wonder if it is all worth it.
Dag Hammarskjold, statesman and leader of the UN once said:
"When the morning's freshness has been replaced by the weariness of midday, when the leg muscles give under the strain, the climb seems endless, and suddenly nothing will go quite as you wish - it is then that you must not hesitate."
Sounds as if he knew something about construction company owners!
It means we must face the customer that doesn't understand why their job has gotten behind schedule. We must force ourselves to get on the phone and follow up with potential customers who told us, "I want to think about your offer." We need to get in our vehicle and drive to a supplier and explain that we can't pay them the money we owe but we will, and explain how. This is a tough time of the year and it may get even tougher.
That is when you find out what you are made of.
