A caller asked the best way to buy insurance. My response was that if you have a choice, I would choose a broker rather than an agent.
Brokers can provide insurance from any number of companies they are associated with. Rates vary for different policies and from different carriers and your broker has the ability to find a policy that might be of better value to you than you now have.
Agents are good, but they are often restricted to the company they work with/for. So, everything considered, I would look for a good broker. Remember, the first rule of good business is to find one that returns your phone calls the same day or by 9 AM the next morning. The courtesy we talk about in the Ten Cardinal Rules apply to all businesses!
