Some have called asking how to increase business. They have not been advertising, and the phone is dead.
My suggestion to them, and to you, is to develop the habit of giving your business card to one prospective new client each day. Make sure it’s a quality card.
Many have tried it and sure enough, the phone is ringing. One coaching client said, “Thanks to you, I now have work into April next year.” (This was after we raised his markup 10%, I might add.)
One new potential client is one YOU contact. It might be at the grocery store, in the bank, at your child’s school or even at a football game. It doesn’t count if they call you from an ad, are old customers or referrals, or are family, friends or business acquaintances.
Don’t cheat by handing out three cards one day and then taking two days off. Take the initiative to physically hand one of your business cards to at least one new potential client each day. This act, along with a smile, will put you in the mood to sell yourself, your company and your service to the prospect.
One card a day, 5 days a week will make the phone ring. Give it a try, and let me know when you see results.
