How are you doing on your review and planning time for 2010? Our newsletters of October 30 and November 5 laid out an outline on how to approach the task. (You can view the newsletters online here – Part 1, October 30 and Part 2, November 5, or drop us an email and we’ll send them to you)
Charles Baudelaire, a poet said, “No task is a long one but the task on which one dare not start. It becomes a nightmare.”
One reason we don’t start a task is because we don’t want to face what we will find. It hasn’t been a great year for many business owners, and it isn’t easy to wonder what will happen next year. But if you don’t do the year-end review and planning session, you’ll become “a wandering generality instead of a meaningful specific”, and that guarantees that next year will be tough.
Your review time should be November 15 to December 31. We are now 3 days into that period so, how are you doing? Are you started? If you don’t do it my friend, it won’t get done. There is no magic wand for this one.
Time to get started. We are working on it in our business as well. Look at the newsletters and start at the top of the first article. Today, do one thing. Tomorrow you can do two or more. At little at a time, but you have to get started.
