Last week we asked if you were ready for some new business? For many, business is picking up. Now let me ask – how are your office practices and procedures? Is your office and staff ready for the upturn in business?
Here are a couple of specific items to review. How is your computer system? Everything running as it should, all parts and pieces working together? If you have a network, is it dependable and running smoothly? Are your programs up to date, latest version? Nothing I can think of is more irritating than having to sit and wait while the computer buzzes, whirls, grinds and clanks, maybe getting the program up and running I want, maybe not.
How is your paperwork? Is your contract regularly reviewed and updated to cover the problems that you may have encountered over the last year? Have you run any new language by your attorney to be sure s/he knows what you are putting in front of your customers to sign? Remember, a contract has to be a win-win doc and it works both ways. Our contract generating software will do a good job for you Take a look, it is the best program on the market for writing contracts for a construction related business. (Note – it is not, at this time, Vista-compatible.)
Do you have a current employee manual, up to date, covering all issues? If not, you might want to look at ours. More on this in a future post.
